What’s the point of this magnetic plate if you still have to purchase a pop socket?
Pop sockets are affixed permanently to your case/phone. This is for iPhone 12s using the MagSafe ring to allow removal of the pop socket as desired. I personally never used pop sockets because they are permanent and interfere with wireless charging. With this, I can easily remove the pop socket to wireless charge.
Will it work with the Apple branded leather mag safe case?
Hello, 100% can be used with the Apple branded leather MagSafe case. As long as it is used with the MagSafe phone case, no matter the phone model is iPhone 12 Pro Max/ Pro/ mini 12 and iPhone 13 Pro Max/ Pro/ mini 13.

Two types of magnetic bases, both can make PopSockets brand PopGrip or generic phone ring holder can be compatible with the iPhone 13 12 MagSafe function. Not recommended for bare phones or non-MagSafe-compatible cases.
This must be used with a mag case or no case to get the adhesion. I have been able to hold my phone from the pop socket without slipping. The pink goes with my pink phone. I am able to take it on and off for charging.

I was looking to use Popsocket with magsafe case and this is a perfect solution for me.It holds iphone 13 pro max without any issues.The magnet is very strong and works very well with magsafe cases. If you are trying to use without a magsafe case, you are not using this product correctly and you will have the hold issues.Popsocket does have similar poduct and it's made out of plastic and color option is not great for me. Theirs is a little bit lighter, but I prefer metal. And the weight difference is not that noticable to me once it's on the phone.I was impressed with it on my first purchase, so I bought another one in white.

This plate can attach to a cell phone or case that uses the Apple MagSafe setup. I am using it on my iPhone 12 Pro Max in an OtterBox case and attach a PopSocket to it. I am using it as a hand hold mount and in the car with a PopSocket vent mount and it handles driving Pennsylvania potholed roads without falling off. Do make sure it is clean and not oily between the plate and the phone/case attachment point (clean both surfaces occasionally) for best hold.
