What’s the point of this magnetic plate if you still have to purchase a pop socket?
Pop sockets are affixed permanently to your case/phone. This is for iPhone 12s using the MagSafe ring to allow removal of the pop socket as desired. I personally never used pop sockets because they are permanent and interfere with wireless charging. With this, I can easily remove the pop socket to wireless charge.
Will it work with the Apple branded leather mag safe case?
Hello, 100% can be used with the Apple branded leather MagSafe case. As long as it is used with the MagSafe phone case, no matter the phone model is iPhone 12 Pro Max/ Pro/ mini 12 and iPhone 13 Pro Max/ Pro/ mini 13.

I see reviews where people say this magnet does not work. I can only guess they are not using it with the magnetic case because mine works great. I’m even using it with a cheap knock off case but it still has the built-in magnets which I think helps keep it on well. I’m glad I can finally use my popsockets when I want to, dock it on my car pop socket mount, and still remove it quickly for charging or what not.

Gutes Produkt für die neue MagSafe Halterung am IPhone. Die Pop Base lässt sich direkt am IPhone, oder aber (wie bei mir) am Clear Case von Apple, anbringen und entfernen. Wenn man sich noch eines selbstklebenden Haltering (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) o.ä. dazu kauft, hat man eine tolle Kombination und nie mehr die Angst, dass einem das IPhone aus den Händen rutscht. Auch kann man es so gut auf dem Tisch platzieren. Die magnetische „Haftkraft“ ist gut und in der Praxis völlig ausreichend.
